VIJAY TO SHAKE LEGS FOR AKSHAY KUMAR!

Prabhu Deva directed Rowdy Rathore is getting bigger by the day. The latest news is that Tamil superstar Ilayathalapathy Vijay has agreed to shake a leg with Akshay Kumar in a song for the film!

Breakng the news to sify.com, an ecstatic Prabhu Deva said: “I met him recently and casually requested him to do a song with Akshay in Rowdy Rathore. He looked at me and didn’t even blink before saying “Yes”. It was really good gesture from such a huge star like him to oblige and do this for me, and that too in a Hindi film”.

Added Prabhu Deva: “Vijay is known for his dancing skills and it would be a treat to see him dance with Akshay who is also a good dancer. Currently Vijay is shooting for AR Murugadoss directed Thupakki in Mumbai and we plan to shoot for the song this week”.

GAUTHAM MENON OPENS UP ON YOHAN

Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru is the next film Gautham Menon is going to work on. The film will star Vijay in the lead character. Yohan will be the name of the character Vijay is going to portray. But why Yohan? Why not something like Kandasamy or Velayudham that regional people can relate to?

The ace director has a theory. Yohan is one of the most used names in the world. He believes that, with this title he will have a wider reach for his film. From what we understand, he is probably trying to take this film international. The film is expected to go on floor from May.

What about your film with Ilaiya Thalapathi Vijay?

It’s starting in June. It’s one of our biggest films, and I’m really looking forward to it.

Looking at the title, Yohan: Adhyaayam Ondru (Yohan: Episode One) – is it a part a series?

Yes, the film will have sequels. We’re going to set up a character that people will want to come back and watch, like a James Bond kind of thing.

Fair enough – but why Yohan?

Yohan’s a very popular Christian name. It’s another form of John, actually. In Christian circles, people will definitely know what it means. We wanted something unique.

There’s been a lot of talk that the film’s posters were inspired by a French film.

See, if you look at what people have done on the Net – they’ve actually taken our posters, and put it on shots of Will Smith and other French films. We haven’t done that. The official posters we came out with, the ones that appeared in the newspapers and magazine, are all original. The ones that appeared on the Net are what fans have pulled out and used on other images. They’re not what we’ve done. It’s not a remake or an inspired film. It’s original in every way.

VIJAY AN AN IDEAL EXAMPLE, FOLLOW HIM" - AR MURUGADOSS

Vijay is presently busy in the film ‘Thuppakki’, which is written and directed by Director A.R.Murugadoss. It is produced by S.Thanu under the banner V.Creations. This movie features Vijay, Kajal Aggarwal, Jayaram, Sathyan and many others. The music is by Harris Jayaraj.

Certain artists have some good habits in them. Some habits would be very good that, even others can or should follow in their life too. Similarly, A.R.Murugadoss has found a very good habit with Vijay.

A.R.Murugadoss said, “Vijay should be considered as a very good example”. On further explaining his point, he said that Vijay is very much dedicated to his career. His actions proves his dedication.

This extravagant celebration of the astounding success of Nanban event which was held at Chennai, featuring the entire cast and crew of Nanban including actors Vijay, Sathyaraj, Jeeva, Srikanth, Santhyan, S.J. Surya and director of the film Shankar would be telecast as two hour special show on Sunday at 1100 hrs.

REEMMA SEN RETURNS FOR VIJAY

Reemma Sen who got married to Shiv Karan Singh last month is still going strong on the career front. She has been roped in for a powerful role in Vijay's maiden production venture for Ghilli Films, which is a remake of SA Chandrasekhar's Sattam Oru Iruttarai. Sneha, SAC's niece will be making her debut as director. 

Vikram Prabhu is the hero and Karthika is his heroine. Piaa Bajpai also has a big role in this film. Reemma Sen will be playing a cop in this movie. After her power packed performance in Aayirathil Oruvan, a lot will be expected from her with this role. 

PRASANNA'S TRYST WITH VIJAY AND AJITH

Prasanna and Sneha have become the 'it' couple in the South and their wedding is creating all the hype of a big release. The actor met Vijay and Ajith recently and about the meeting he said, "Met both the all time super stars Thala and Thalabathy... both were kind and sweet in their own way! Of course invited them for the wedding". Both stars accepted the invitation graciously and it is expected they will be there especially since Sneha has worked with both of them.

It is going to be the wedding of our times as the biggest names in the industry will be there. The Sangeeth is scheduled to happen on May 8th at Hotel Green Park, Chennai. The theme will be inspired from Jodha Akhbar. The wedding itself is on May 11th.

VIJAY THUPPAKKI TO BE A BIRTHDAY TREAT?

There is news that’ll elate Vijay fans. Thupakki is soon going to be wrapped up. All that’s remaining are two songs and both have been scheduled to be shot in Thailand. The crew also disclosed that the film might be released on Vijay’s birthday, which falls on June 22nd.

The film also features Kajal Agarwal, Jayaram, Sathyan and Vidyut Jamwal. Santosh Sivan, who recently received the prestigious membership from the American Society of Cinematographers, handles the camera. Harris Jayaraj is composing the music and National Award winner Sreekar Prasad edits the film.

VIJAY, MURUGADOSS & THE KUSHI CONNECTION

Vijay who is presently doing AR Murugadoss’ Thupakki was spotted in Mumbai shooting for the film. Murugadoss worked with Vijay in Kushi when the former was working as an assistant to SJ Suryah. “So we share a special bond and our wavelength matches well,” says Vijay. Vijay commented that both Murugadoss and Santhosh Sivan are pacy workers, who don’t give up on the quality.

The Nanban star was inspired by the director’s stylish narration. The actor reveals that Muragadoss is a nifty actor too and that he would always ask the director to act and show him his portions, so that the he could reproduce it on screen. It seems there are no specific action sequences in the film; instead every sequence in the film has a bit of action in it.

Apart from shooting, Vijay says he is enjoying wandering around Mumbai.

VIJAY FILM'S MILESTONE ACHIEVEMENT

Vijay's film, Nanban directed by Shankar and co-starring Sathyaraj, Jiiva, Srikanth and Ileana has successfully completed a 100 day run. The team is delighted and will be celebrating this milestone achievement on April 21st in the Lady Andal auditorium. The event will be broadcast on Vijay TV.

In addition to this, Vijay TV, following a record deal, will be playing the film on May 1st, for the first time ever on TV only a few short months after its release. Nanban is turning out to be quite the cash cow and Vijay, Shankar and the rest of the Nanban team can take a big bow in honor of their achievement!
