Sources say that Vijay will play a Sri Lankan Tamil in the film to be directed by Santosh Sivan. Incidentally, Santosh Sivan is the cinematographer for Thuppaki and had narrated the story to Vijay on the sets of this film. Sources say that Santosh has the story set in the final war that was waged between the Sri Lankan Army and the LTTE and his story begins with three Eelam supporters escaping to seek vengeance.
Vijay is touted to play an important role in this film as he is a staunch supporter of the Sri Lankan Tamils.
